Election Day is Wed, Feb 28, 2007

The official date is now set. The decertification election will be held on Feb 28, in an education room to be announced. Poll times are: 6AM - 10AM; 1PM - 4PM; & 6PM - 9PM.
The official notification from Doreen in H.R. is forthcoming, as are the posting of special NURSING FORUMS to be held, which are designed to answer questions about the election process and other related issues.
Two people from each side will be invited to monitor for an honest, non-coercive environment for all voters. Additionally, a neutral third party will be present at all times to ensure the ballots are not tampered with at any time and that your voting remains a secret process. In contrast to the CNA voting process, there will be no filling out of forms, a room full of union people, having to speak to either side or anyone trying to convince you how to vote. The ballot will simply ask if you want the union to stay. Check the "YES" or "NO" box and you're on your way. Ballots will be counted immediately upon completion of the last polling time at 9PM.

A VERY IMPORTANT FACT: Because the union is already recognized as our bargaining representatives, all 700 nurses at TCMC (including you and me) have been recorded as agreeing to support the CNA. If you do not come in and actually vote on Feb 28, your vote will STAY in SUPPORT OF THE CNA! The only way to change that is to physically vote "NO" on Wed, Feb 28. Please understand your next opportunity won't be until 3 years from now.

Now is the only time to make a change for the sake of our hospital. Union-Free supporters could not have made it any easier for you to finally have the chance to let YOUR voice be heard. Do not let the CNA continue to divide the wonderful nurses of Tri-City.
